SmartDyeLivery GmbH develops patented nanocarrier technologies to diagnose and treat difficult-to-treat diseases more effectively. The platform technology improves bioavailability, reduces side effects and enables the use of poorly soluble substances. The technology is based on close cooperation with the University of Jena and the University Hospital Jena. SmartDyeLivery GmbH was awarded the special prize for young companies as part of the ‘Thüringer Innovationspreises’ 2015.
Founded in 2014, SmartDyeLivery GmbH pursues the goal of providing therapies for diseases that are currently difficult or impossible to treat. To this end, SmartDyeLivery is developing a platform technology based on functionalized nanocarriers.
The customized nanocarriers have great potential for the treatment and diagnosis of diseases. Through nano-encapsulation and functionalization of the particle surface, the active ingredient is quickly delivered to the intended site of action, such as diseased organs or tumours. There, the active ingredient is released and selectively attacks the affected cells, while the rest of the body is spared – thus reducing dangerous side effects for the patient. The different functionalization of the nanocarriers makes them suitable for a wide range of applications, e.g. in the field of therapy and diagnostics.
SmartDyeLivery GmbH is experiencing steady growth and a large network and was awarded the special prize for young companies as part of the Thuringian Innovation Award 2015.
