Lecture hall, Abbe Center Beutenberg, Jena

The liver is a central organ of our body that processes nutrients, breaks down toxins and stores excess energy in the form of fat. Fatty liver disease (steatosis) occurs when too much fat accumulates in the liver, which can damage the organ and lead to serious health problems. How important is the liver for our health? Why can a fatty liver be so dangerous? And what can you do to protect yourself from this disease?

Prof. Dr. med. Elke Roeb will answer these and other questions in her lecture on “Fatty liver – a question of age?”, which will take place as part of the public lecture series “Science & Society” on September 12, 2024 in the lecture hall of the Abbe Center Beutenberg in Jena. Find out more about the causes, risks and modern treatment options for this common but often underestimated disease.

Organized by the Leibniz Institute on Aging (FLI) in cooperation with the Beutenberg-Campus Jena e.V.
